The Wedding Ring Specialist – Bringing you great quality Wedding Rings
Your wedding day is one of the most special and important day of your life. Although a small part of the planning for your wedding, the wedding rings for you and your partner will stay with you for the rest of your married life.
Brides wearing wedding rings can be traced back to ancient Egypt and it is only the last few decades where grooms have began to do the same. Historically brides wore wedding rings to represent ownership and symbolise eternity. To give a woman a wedding ring signifies immortal and never ending love. Wedding bands haven’t always been made from platinum, palladium, gold and silver – in ancient times the materials include ivory, bone, leather and even iron.
The fingers in which a wedding ring is worn also varies through different stages in history. It is thought that the tradition of wearing wedding rings on the fourth finger of the left hand can be traced back to the Romans. It was thought that there was a vein in this finger directly connected to the heart and referred to as the ‘Vena Amoris’ or the ‘Vein of Love’.
When choosing a wedding ring, most brides opt for a similar style and metal as the engagement ring. It’s also important to ensure that both rings will sit happily together on the finger. We will happily shape a ring for you to ensure it sits comfortably with your engagement ring.
We carry a wide range of wedding rings in yellow gold, white gold, platinum and palladium. We also have a huge selection of widths and weights in d-shape, court, comfort and flat ring profiles – please contact us if there is something in particular you’re after which you can’t see on the website.

Amazing Wedding Ring Lost & Found
A Swedish woman has made an amazing discovery when the wedding ring she lost 16 years ago turned up at the end of a carrot. Lena Paahlsson believes the wedding ring ended up in the compost when it fell amongst the vegetables peelings in the sink. It was then turned into compost and left on the veggie patch!
Wedding Guide: Palladium Wedding Rings
Palladium wedding rings are really big news this season, with many thrifty grooms opting for this precious metal over the previous top seller platinum.
If you’ve not heard the hype, palladium wedding rings cost a fraction of the price of platinum and as it weighs much less is also a lighter alternative for mens wide wedding rings. It still retains much of the lustre and shine of platinum wedding ring.
Palladium has an amazing resistance to corrosion, is scratch resistant, it won’t oxidise and is highly durable. This makes it the perfect wedding ring choice for any bride or groom that has a physical job or lifestyle.
Our prices have been dropped even lower and we aim to be one of the cheapest online retailers of Palladium wedding jewellery. We’re also stocking a wider range of widths and sizes ensuring there is something for every taste and budget.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s Wedding Rings
Justin Timberlake proposed to Jessica Biel last December at the top of a mountain, with an engagement ring he’d had made as a bespoke piece by a jeweller from Las Vegas. The engagement band, an 18ct white gold and black rhodium plated design with a center stone, a square hearts and arrows diamond, is surrounded by round diamonds and features an aquamarine – Beil’s birthstone – on each side. He wanted something personal and unique and we think he certainly achieved that.
When designing the wedding rings for their big day, they returned to the same jeweller who had created Jessica’s engagement ring. Justin opted for a simple yellow gold plain wedding ring with a hammer finish, while his bride chose four stackable weddings rings, two of which are the same as Justin’s – simple yellow gold plain wedding ring and the other two are said to be white gold with a black rhodium finish and covered in diamonds though she only wore one when exchanging vows on her big day.
Congratulations to them both and we wish them all the very best for the future.
Caring for your Platinum Wedding Ring
Will my Platinum Wedding Ring Scratch?
Unfortunately the answer to that is yes. Platinum is one of the hardest wearing of all the precious metals but if you wear your wedding ring all the time there’s no way of preventing general wear and tear. The great thing about platinum is that the platinum is merely displaced and not removed from the ring. So if you like to maintain a bright shine on your platinum wedding ring an experienced jeweller will be able polish it back to it’s former glory. Please contact us here at The Wedding Ring Specialist if you’d like to have a ring you have purchased from us polished and we will do it free of charge.
How Should I Store My Platinum Wedding Ring?
When not being worn, you should store your platinum wedding ring in a chamois bag or box and it shouldn’t rub against other jewellery. We supply all our wedding rings with beautiful wooden boxes which are ideal for keeping them safe when not worn.
What’s the Best Way to Clean My Platinum Wedding Ring?
To clean your platinum wedding ring you should use a mild soap and warm water solution. There are also jewellery cleaning solutions available and you should ensure you buy one specifically for platinum jewellery. Gently rub it with a soft lint free cloth and dry to prevent water marks. You should avoid wearing your ring when using harsh cleaning products if possible.
