Palladium Wedding Rings by The Wedding Ring Specialist
Palladium wedding rings are becoming more and more popular as an alternative to platinum wedding rings for both men and women. Palladium is a silvery white metal from the platinum group metals. The jewellery industry have recently claimed that as many as half of all engagement and wedding rings being sold are now made of palladium. This growth has been incredible as only 3 years ago no high street jewellers used the metal for wedding rings. Palladium rings can cost a fraction of the price of platinum bands - as cheap as a quarter of the price. This is due to the fact that palladium is more readily available. Palladium has all the qualities of platinum but is a fraction of the cost, it doesn't tarnish like white gold and is very strong. It is hypo-allergenic and never needs rhodium plating and will always stay as bright as the day you first wore it. The Wedding Ring Specialist ensure they stock only the highest quality palladium in a wide range of widths and profiles. We stock all sizes and are sure to be cheaper than most other online shops. Choose from d-shape, flat, court and comfort fit in light, medium and heavy weights. The sizes of palladium ring we stock are 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm and 10mm. Palladium Hallmark
All palladium rings purchased from The Wedding Ring Specialist come with a full UK hallmark. Did you know that this year, Palladium has been officially acknowledged as fine jewellery with the advent of a hallmark? The UK hallmarking Act was amended in Parliament, making it compulsory that all palladium items over 1g must be stamped with a hallmark. There have been a number of amendments to the UK Hallmarking Act since 1973 but this is the first time since platinum that a new metal has been added. The standards that will are available for the hallmarking of palladium are 500, 950 and 999. However, 950 is the most common standard requested. The Palladium Hallmark is made up of three compulsory symbols and one voluntary symbol. These are as follows; the sponsor's or maker's mark, Assay Office mark, fineness (purity) mark and a voluntary pictorial symbol. In keeping with hallmarking tradition customers can opt to include a pictorial symbol alongside the three compulsory symbols. The pictorial symbol for Palladium will be Pallas Athene, the Greek Goddess of War, Wisdom and Crafts, after whom Palladium was named. The mark has been designed especially for use as part of the new palladium hallmark.
